Paul Barkshire, the Photographer

Yesterday (29/04/09), while wanderin’ around in Shoreditch London, I happened to meet Paul Barkshire the 8×10 photographer. He has, and still documents old and lost London.
This is the first time i’ve ever met the man, and I was introduced to him while talkin’ with a fellow resident of Shoreditch on Brick Lane, who was a stranger to me, but a friend of Paul’s.
He came walkin’ along with a shoppin’ trolley in tow behind him that carried he’s 8×10 Wista camera within, and his tripod hangin’ off the side of it. I asked to see the camera and he showed me. It was a beautiful thing, all made of wood with brass fittings and focus screen inset. I wished i’d have owned one, I was immediately envious.
It was an absolute chance meetin’ and i’m happy that I met him and got his portrait. He is a real nice down to earth, straight up kinda’ guy. I’ve since sent him a copy of his portrait via email, I hope he likes it.
