Street Artifacts

This is a still life I have been workin’ on for a number of weeks now. I was interested in tryin’ to convey a social message through the use of amassin’ and photographin’ the detritus and rubbish on the streets of London.

It was surprisin’ how I had to search and look hard for the best lookin’ and authentically weathered dirty cigarette butts, and such. I was always consciously lookin’ over my shoulder…before I stooped and picked up these little glories to be. 😀

Of course a variety of cigarette butts had to be considered for the photograph too. It was no easy task really, when you consider how the streets are mostly kept clean these days.

Anyway, its all there – cigarettes, alcohol, food and sex. 😉
