Territorial Pissings

I spotted this poster on display in Aldgate East, London. I know all Nirvana fans will instantly recognise the connection made in this scene.

The scene is set here for major construction work on London’s new railway link known as Crossrail (http://www.crossrail.co.uk/). This is on the Charing Cross Road near Tottenham Court Road tube station.
It’ll be underground, so there will be holes.

Construction in the City of London - Photographic Project
I have started a new photographic project (Construction in the City of London), where my aim will be to document all the construction taking place in and around the City of London.
God knows, there is a lot going on, and a lot being built, with much more to come.
This shot was taken on a Sunday morning and so these cranes were unmanned, this was how they were left for the weekend. Its an area of London that is undergoin’ development directly opposite St. Pauls, in Cheapside.
Of course my photos will only be from a public viewpoint, i’ll have no chance of being given any private access.
Private Palms – Southwark, London

People talk about London being grey and colourless, but I think that is wide of the mark. Its the weather really, not the buildings.
When the sun does shine in London the city’s walls and colours come to life, its just that we don’t get that much sun. There are a lot of buildings in London that are very colourful, the various glass tints of the office buildings in the business districts, the red and russet bricked homes, the gothic yellow stonework of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament etc.
This building here in Southwark for example, you’d be quite forgiven for thinking that this could be somewhere in the mediterranean. Its not though, its just a short hop down from Tower Bridge, south of the river.
There are plenty more colourful buildings like this in London, besides.
